Summary

In this session we focus on psychosocial development in adulthood. Based on earlier discussions of attachment, we explore adult relationships and attachments, and consider their relationship with earlier attachments. We also look at adult lifestyles and parenting.  We will begin with a quiz on the assigned readings and then discuss the material and engage in application activities.

APPLICATION ACTIVITY: Exploring Your Childhood and Adult Attachments

  1. What attachment category do you think you fell into as a child?
    • Securely attached?
    • Anxiously attached?
    • Avoidantly attached?
  2. How are your adult attachments? Are they similar to your childhood attachments?
