Which of the following two contradictory claims is valid?

  (1) Anger is conceptualized in the same way universally. 

  (2) Anger is a social construction and thus varies considerably from culture to culture.

We will explore this question in class and conduct an activity that will help you weigh the evidence in order to make an informed choice.

Learning a Second Language and Anxiety

 
Learning a second language can be anxiety provoking, especially if it is in a classroom setting.
 
Consider the statements adapted from the Foreign Language Anxiety Scale (Horwitz et al., 1986) to assess your experience of anxiety during class activities and see if there is a difference between past and current experiences.
