CUNY Virtual Desktop allows you to remotely access various software tools via the web from off campus. These tools currently include: ArcGIS, SPSS, SAS, Mathematica, Maplesoft, and Matlab. Over time CUNY intends to add more applications and tools.
This resource is available 24x7 from any internet accessible location and is designed to handle 3,000 concurrent users. The CUNY Virtual Desktop essentially creates a temporary virtual computer environment for each connected user, within which the user can access and use the published tools.
Although the resource is managed centrally by CUNY, staff at the ITS Helpdesk (718.951.4357 or helpdesk@brooklyn.cuny.edu), are prepared to assist you with any problems you may have accessing this resource.
