Students are encouraged to participate in class, we will be having discussions related to the lectures presented in each class.
Two Response Papers are assigned, totaling 30%
Students will write one Response Paper for a film or documentary (15%). Response Papers will be graded of your understanding of the concepts presented in the film, as well as your clarity of writing.
The second response (15%) paper will be related to a case study base on class materials and lecture, the students will have to submit on blackboard. Details and grading rubrics will be discussed prior to the assigned due date.
Midterm (25%) and final exam (20%)
Missing a test without receiving explicit verbal permission from me personally beforehand automatically results in a zero and drops your overall grade 20%. A makeup test will be given only at my discretion and convenience. Sending me an email does not constitute receiving verbal permission unless I have responded to you.

NY Times: Anyone who initiates an account will have an active subscription for one year from the date she/he creates the account. If you already have an annual subscription to the NYTimes, you can cancel it and will receive a refund. However, if you only have a monthly subscription, the New York Times will not issue a refund for that month.
