High School Students: Public Libraries

NYC Public Libraries

Remember: As a New York City resident, you have access to all three of the City's Public Libraries! All three library systems are making it easy to get e-cards, library cards you can apply for (and use) remotely to access digital resources.

Please note: To get instant access to digital resources, you must enable location sharing on your web browser and be geolocated within New York State. To get a full-access library card, visit any branch of the library within 60 days of your online application with a current ID. Teenagers (age 13-17) do not need to provide proof of address in order to obtain a library card. For more information about e-cards, see the Welcome Card/eCard FAQs.

Please note: To get instant access to digital resources, your location within New York State must be verifiable. To get a physical library card, visit any branch of the library. Teenagers (age 13-17) do not need to provide ID or proof of address in order to obtain a library card. For more information, see Apply for a Free Library Card Today! and Library Card Terms and Conditions.
