Access to the Library: Library Visitors

This guide provides information on access to the Brooklyn College Library for alumni/ae, friends, and the wider community of patrons.

Family, Friends, and Visitors

Family

Spouses and children of BC faculty, staff, and students are allowed to visit the Library, under the following conditions:

  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Students from the Prep Center for the Performing Arts must be accompanied by an adult inside the Library.
  • Spouses and children will not be admitted to the Library unless they are accompanied by a BC faculty, staff, or student with a valid Brooklyn College ID.

 

Visitors

 

Individuals with the following forms of ID have certain access privileges to the Library (please show ID at the security entrance):

  • Brooklyn College Adult Literacy students
  • CUNY (students / faculty / staff / PhD alumni)
  • SUNY (students / faculty / staff)
  • Brooklyn Lifelong Learning http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/academics/centers/irpe.php
  • Friends of the Library
  • Brooklyn College Prep Center for the Performing Arts
  • Midwood High School faculty
  • Academic Libraries of Brooklyn
  • METRO referrals
  • Visiting  faculty, scholars or researchers.
