“The Social-Behavioral-Educational (SBE) Basic course provides an introduction to social-behavioral-educational research with a focus on the protection of human subjects. It offers historic and current information on regulatory and ethical issues important to the conduct of research involving human subjects. Case studies are used within the modules to present key concepts.”

Steps:

  1. Website: https://www.citiprogram.org/Default.asp
  2. Click Register (use your Brooklyn College email)
  3. Select  your organization affiliation: City University of New York (CUNY)
    1. Click on Agree to Terms of Service
    2. Click on I affirm that I am an affiliate of CUNY
  4. Click Continue to Create Your CITI Program Username/Password
  5. Complete the required information (use your Brooklyn College email)
  6. Once signed in:
    1. Click on Add a Course
    2. Select: Take the Human Subjects Basic Course - Click Next
    3. Select HSR for Undergraduate Students - Click Next
  7. Complete the HSR for Undergraduate Students Basic/Refresher course
  8. Submit a PDF copy of your completion report via Blackboard. 

 NOTE: Grades will be based on the completion report grade. That is, 100% on the completion report is equivalent to 10 points, 90% is equivalent to 9 points, etc.
