We will use selections from these specific translations during class meetings. This is an OER course, which means that all of the readings are available at no cost. Please see the Schedule page for links to the readings. All reading assignments should be read before class.

  • Selected Homeric Hymns 
  • Aeschylus, Oresteia trilogy
  • Sophocles, Oedipus the King, Antigone
  • Euripides, Bacchae
  • Ovid, selections from the Metamorphoses
  • Other short texts will be distributed as handouts
