Tableau is a data visualization and "business intelligence" software. It has many of the same functions as MS Excel, but its visualization features are much superior. Tableau does have a free version: Tableau "Public," although this version lacks many features of the proprietary software. Nevertheless, Tableau Public does have many resources and can create remarkable visualizations.
Tableau is easy to install, but presents a bit of difficulty for those who have not learned database design. The interface becomes much easier to use after doing a few tutorials.
