Specialty Accommodations

The Library Cafe offers two ADA computer stations for the visually impaired. Both are equipped with:

  • Large monitors
  • Jaws
  • Dragon
  • Kuzweil 1000 - 3000
  • Zoom Text
  • HP scanner

ADA computer users are expected to be trained in using their available features. For assistance please contact us in advance.

The Service Desk
  • The Service Desk is staffed during staff on-duty hours.
  • Technical support is available during staff on-duty hours.
  • Technical support covers: 
    • Basic software application assistance
    • Basic Internet assistance
    • Printing support
Document Printing
 
  • Self service printing stations are located near the main service desk

         - all documents must first be sent from a computer, either from within the cafe, the library or a laptop

           connected to BCwifi

  • Black and white printouts: 10¢ per page.
  • Color printouts: 25¢ per page.
  • Patrons must come to the Service Desk to check for printed documents.
  • Patrons who wish to make color printouts must notify Library Cafe staff in advance.

Wireless Computing

To be allowed to use the Laptop Service you must be a Brooklyn College student, and in addition you must be registered for the current semester. To get your laptop configured visit the West End Building (WEB), 1st Floor, call 1-718-951-5787 or visit http://bc-wifi.brooklyn.cuny.edu

Wireless Computing (all floors) is available at specific locations throughout the library: see floor plans of the wireless network at the Brooklyn College Library and learn how to get started.

Once your laptop has been configured for WiFi you may print from your laptop in the library using this URL:https://webprint.brooklyn.cuny.edu/. To get your laptop configured, visit the West End Building (WEB), 1st Floor.
