A guide for instructors

This guide focuses on generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

We cover only AI that can generate text, images, video, music, or speech. Examples: Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Stanford STORM & CoSTORM, and more. The focus of the guide is to arm faculty and instructional staff with practical knowledge to be able to make informed decisions about using AI as a productivity tool and formulate comprehensive course policies about AI use by students.

We aim to keep this guide up to date. But since new developments are happening so quickly, it's possible this may be out of date when you read it.
