Internships in the Library: Science Information Internship

Science Information Internship

The Brooklyn College Library actively seeks to encourage undergraduate and graduate Brooklyn College science students to consider science librarianship as a career. We offer a special science librarianship-related internship each semester to expose interested students to the profession. This internship mirrors in many ways the general internship: interns will shadow librarians at the reference desk, visit Library units, and attend meetings and observe information literacy instruction sessions.

In addition, there is more emphasis on the unique nature of science librarianship: interns will work on semester-long projects, visit other science-related libraries in the NYC metro area, work closely with Brooklyn College science librarian faculty, and participate in local science special interest groups.

Interested students must be enrolled in a science-related major or minor at Brooklyn College.
