 IMPORTANT NEWS: New Blackboard Interface

Brooklyn College community,

Starting Saturday, June 29th, Blackboard will update its Home page interface. The "My Courses" and "My Organizations" modules will now be listed as "Courses" and "Organizations” on the Home page menu.

This transition is necessary as the company is moving all its clients. Changes will only apply to the Blackboard Home Page; the course view and navigation will remain the same.

Please press this AIT site for instructions on accessing Blackboard courses and organizations in the new interface.

Assignments' Tips for Students

Here are some tips you should consider before submitting an Assignment, Safeassign or Turnitin paper:

  • Supported documents include Word (DOC, DOCX), PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX), Excel (XLS, XLSX), and PDF (PDF).
  • Use the appropriate browser (preferable Firefox).
  • Use ONLY alphanumeric characters (A-Z/0-9, no spaces or punctuation) when naming a file to be uploaded. You will get an error message instead of the document attached or posted in the course if the name of the document is too long and do not have the underscore "_" between words.

Example of proper format: Adolescents_should _make_their_own_decisions.doc

  • Do not use the browser's Back button. This may cause loss of data.
  • Be patient, wait for the submission’s receipt. DO NOT click elsewhere while uploading a file.
  • Mac users must avoid empty spaces in front of the document’s title.
  • Delete browser cookies and try it again.
  • Contact your professor if you are getting an error message.
