Film: Find Films at the Library

The Brooklyn College Library has access to streaming films as well as a DVD and video film collection located in the New Media Center on the 2nd floor.

Films in DVD or streaming video format are discoverable in OneSearch by searching for titles, actors, directors, or even by keyword. 

Be sure to Filter results to Resource Type: Video 

 

Other films are best located by looking in our streaming media collections listed in the box below. You can also find more information about Streaming Video here:

Viewing DVDs @ the Library

  1. Find out if we have the film using OneSearch
  2. Go to the New Media Center on the 2nd floor of the Library which is also next to the Music Library. 
  3. Ask for the film by title and call number. 
    • For example: 
      • Title: Casablanca
      • Call number: PN1997 .C352x 2012

  4. Checkout times can be anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks. 
    • If watching the film in the Library you can use a viewing station or Library computer with your personal headphones. You can rent a Viewing Room from the New Media Center if viewing in a group. 
  5. Return film to the same desk at the New Media Center on the 2nd floor. 

Faculty: FORM to reserve a film for your class

Students will not be able to take the films out of the Library but can view them at the Library (see above information).
